Ventura County taskforce finds fugitive from Los Angeles

A man wanted for alleged indecent acts against a minor was arrested in Oxnard Monday morning, authorities said.

Abraham Guy Williams, 39, was arrested at 9:35 a.m. on the 3000 block on South E Street in Oxnard, according to the California Highway Patrol, which made the arrest with other members of the Ventura County Auto Theft Task Force.

Williams was wanted in Los Angeles County on bail of $ 3.1 million for indecent acts against minors under the age of 14.

"We learned through channels that he was in Ventura County," said CHP Sgt. Matthew Marien, a member of the task force. "We were tasked to find him and we found him."

Williams faces multiple criminal offenses and was held in Ventura County Jail as of Wednesday, prison records show.

The task force consists of members of the California Highway Patrol, the Simi Valley Police Department, and the Ventura County Attorney's Office. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Special Victims Bureau is handling the ongoing investigation.
