WOODLAND HILLS (CBSLA) – Police discovered about 100 people attending a house party in an upscale neighborhood in Woodland Hills early Tuesday morning.
Los Angeles police were called to the house on the 5000 block of Escobedo Drive at 2:50 a.m. and discovered dozens of people.
The party was peacefully dispersed, police said.
It's unclear if the house was a short-term rental or who was hosting the party. There was no word as to whether charges would be brought.
On August 5, LA Mayor Eric Garcetti issued a public order authorizing the LA Department of Water and Energy to shut down utilities in homes hosting large gatherings, parties, or events to prevent the spread of electricity Prevent COVID-19.
On September 1, Garcetti authorized the LADWP to cut off supplies to a house in the Cahuenga Pass after several large gatherings had taken place there.
On August 28, the LA prosecutor announced charges against four people, including two young TikTok stars, in connection with several recent parties held in mansions in the Hollywood Hills. The power supply in the house of the TikTok stars was also switched off.
Home-sharing giant Airbnb has suspended or removed at least 50 LA County rentals from its app after complaints were received or policy violations were found. Airbnb has banned parties and events from listings worldwide until further notice.
There have also been multiple shootouts at house parties in the area in recent weeks.
On August 30, a man was shot dead before a house party in Arcadia.
In the early hours of August 26, gunfire broke out during a party at another short-term rental home in LA's affluent Beverly Crest neighborhood, killing one man and wounding another.
On August 11, five people were wounded in a shooting at a major party in a warehouse in an industrial area in the Harbor-Gateway community of South Los Angeles.
On August 4, a woman was killed and two others injured after gunshots were fired at a mansion party, also in Beverly Crest.
