While initially only four sexual assaults by four different women were charged, the adult movie star has Ron Jeremy, is now charged with 28 counts after receiving new certificates. Victims, encouraged by the news of Jeremy’s arrest in June, contacted local authorities and informed them of further misconduct, including the attack of a 15-year-old.
A task force led by the Los Angeles District Attorney, Jackie Lacey, added Jeremy to a high profile list of members of the entertainment industry who have charged them with sexual crimes, a list that includes such as Harvey Weinstein and David Guillod. Jeremy, who pleaded not guilty on all of the charges brought before him, is charged with rape and sexual violence by nearly 50 women.
After interviewing each of these women, the Sheriff's Department decided to include only eleven in the amended complaint, six of which are members of the adult entertainment industry. Those not added to the complaint may still be able to testify during a legal process and add details of Jeremy's abusive behavior that spanned from 2004 to 2020.
According to the interviews, Jeremy once forced himself on a woman in her West Hollywood home and only three years later in 2017 he assaulted two other women in a nearby bar. Jeremy had apparently used his star status and copious amounts of alcohol to approach them. In a heinous incident in June 2004, Jeremy allegedly cornered a minor at a Santa Clarita party.
The movie star is being held on bail of $ 6.6 million and could face nearly 90 years of life imprisonment if found guilty. Jeremy stands by his not guilty pledge and tweeted on June 23. “I am innocent of all charges. I can't wait to prove my innocence in court! Thanks everyone for their support, ”Jeremy tweeted.
