LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – Two men have been charged with robbery and assault against three transgender women – including YouTube personality Eden Estrada, who passes Eden the Doll – the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office said in Hollywood on Tuesday.
Carlton Alexander Callway, of Compton, 29, has faced a number of criminal offenses, each including a second degree theft, second degree robbery, criminal threats, attempted second degree robbery and violence resulting in serious personal injury and battery can result in serious personal injury.
Callway had previously been arrested in connection with the case.
The 22-year-old Davion Anthony Williams, also from Compton, is facing a crime that results from a major theft and an attack with a deadly weapon, a ride-on scooter.
The charges include allegations that the crimes committed were hate crimes and that Callway used a steel rod as a deadly and dangerous weapon.
Prosecutors said Callway befriended the three victims and later attacked them near Hollywood Boulevard and Wilcox Avenue on August 17th. Williams is said to have joined the attack.
On August 24th, the D.A. returned the case to the Los Angeles Police Department for further investigation.
