LOS ANGELES (KABC) – Although required by law in California, some people still refuse to wear masks in public. At the moment, the police are not arresting people for not wearing facewear, but enforcement could occur.
In Eyewitness Newsmakers, Los Angeles city lawyer Mike Feuer explained how some people other than law enforcement officials might remind others to wear a mask.
"You could imagine a task force, maybe disaster relief workers, other city ambassadors walking down the street together. You can imagine law enforcement agencies joining this effort occasionally. I hope we don't now have to." Reach the point where we actually have to enforce through criminal sanctions, "he said.
